Well you boyfriend .. we are all grown up - at least I am one of those - with the colorful and varied where bricks were creating anything ... and how many times have we pissed off not being able to complete the "magic cube" (also known as Rubik's cube), kicking him and knocking him everywhere .... Well
a Swedish programmer named Hans Andersson has built a robot with the legendary bricks, using the kit called "Lego Mindstorm Retail " consists of three electric motors, a programmable ECU and various sensors, including one can recognize the colors.
Thanks to an algorithm designed by Hans the robot connected to a PC is able to complete the cube in 60 moves.
From the video we can see that in the first 90 seconds, the robot analyzes the situation, after which calculates the solution and go to practice.
True challenge was the implementation of the algorithm: the computational power and memory of the controller Lego are quite limited and it was necessary to have a maximum number of moves.
who want to try the experiment can connect to the website of Hans and download from the downloads section instructions and software (all in English) required to develop the robot.
below a video of the experiment ... good vision
